Re: Different Strokes February 2013

There are such lovely entries this month. I will post mine tomorrow or later today.

Colin, I like the cheerfulness of yours, and your blending is perfect.

Matt, I like the looseness of your entry. It shows the joy you take in painting.

Cindy, you have created a lovely, moody painting. It's either getting on toward evening or it's a cold, overcast day. Either way, I like it.

Maureen, yours is absolutely superb! Every aspect is perfect and your instructions are very helpful.

J.T. you also have created a moody painting. Lovely!

Virginia, that is stunning! I love the punch of such vibrant colors and the almost abstract feel of this. Wonderful!

Thanks Carol, Charri and Judy. Judy your advice on the use of acrylic medium was very helpful and helped a lot to keep the paint workable to permit better blending - thank you.

Re: Different Strokes February 2013

You are most welcome, Colin! I'm glad it worked for you.

Here is my attempt for this month. I don't paint many landscapes as I don't do them very well, but I wanted to give this beautiful seascape sunset a try. I tend to like rather simplified landscapes, somewhat dramatic, (in the style of our Flattwo) and that was what I was going for here. I can see I still have a lot of work to do.

This is done on 11 x 14 canvas panel. I welcome any and all suggestions and comments.

That looks wonderful though, I think you did very good! I especially like that streak of yellow along the waves at the bottom.
