Refiner's Fire Iris

I posted this in the Watercolor Forum but couldn't resist posting it here. This is the Refiner's Fire Iris, that I painted for a friend for her birthday.

Particulars: 8"x10", on Canson Paper using Daniel Smith Watercolors.

Welcome to the forum Janice.

This is a beautifully painted iris ... you've captured the delicacy of the petals really well, fine work there.

Yes, welcome Janice, and a big Wow from me upon seeing it...it lit up my monitor screen. Just luscious. I'm sure your friend was over the moon with it. Love working on Canson paper, too. Hope we see more from you in Florals.

Re: Refiner's Fire Iris

A beautiful painting, the flower looks so delicate and I love the colouring. Really like how you did the background too.
