Re: May Monthly SW/W Challenge

Just sharing a late sketch for this month's challenge. I'm working on more "Inklings" (3x3" little notecards/tags with original quick sketches on them) for an upcoming art show, so I decided to do the handsome rooster...the one named Tyler. Just kidding. Here's Big Red...on yellow.

Done in maybe 5 - 10 minutes. Staedtler fine pens on colored cardstock. Sorry it's a little blurred...just a phone picture I took at about 11:30 last night.

Love this ink version of Big Red. I bet these little cards sell well for you at the shows.

Jenna, those "inklings" are a super idea. This one is so cute.

Re: May Monthly SW/W Challenge

Thank you so much, Kay and Jo! These little cards are pretty popular at shows. Much of the time, they'll sell to little kids who come up shyly with an Inkling in one hand and a dollar bill in the other. Fun to see the grins on their faces when they can buy a little original drawing for themselves.

Then the effort is well worth it for a child to experience owning their very own fine art piece no matter the size.

Re: May Monthly SW/W Challenge

Thanks, Kay. I agree - I love seeing kids at art shows, absorbing the creativity all around them. I know I learned a whole lot going to art shows when I was a kid. It's such a great thing to experience at any age.
