Low Tide in Thurso

Title: Low Tide in Thurso
Year Created:
Medium: Acrylic
Surface: Linen
Dimension: 24 x 24
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

This painting is part of a series for an upcoming exhibition. It honors my uncle who was killed in action during WWII. I used a pencil sketch from my uncle's sketchbook that he carried with him while stationed in England.

I would be very grateful for some constructive criticism of the painting regarding composition, use of color, brushwork etc.
Thank you very much.

Hails from United States
Re: Low Tide in Thurso

Lovely painting. However, the fog in the middle ground is too heavy IMHO. It separates the foreground from background, causing some disconnection.
C&C always welcome

Thank you so much for your advice. I will make the corrections. I am so happy you figured out the problem as I did not recognize what was wrong but now I see.
