Can one use regular house paint nylon brushes you buy at Home Depot or Lowes?
Just curious for use on large paintings such as 2″, 2.5″, 3″.
I was looking for Bristle in those sizes at Lowes but they didn’t have any. Maybe Home Depot. I have some very large old ones that are bristle.

Just wondering if the nylon ones would work as well

No reason why not especially for wetting down the paper and softening edges. Check out the videos of Sterling Edwards who includes three bristle brushes in his signature set. (not currently available).

Here’s a video of a bristle brush in use.
