This is done from reference shot last week during the Portrait Session I host at the Studio. I will be painting much more Portrait in Oil over the next while, and got started. The focus was on process- taking a bit of time to sketch with the brush and keeping the color simple with just 4-5 neutrals. I wiped a few things off, even though done well, as they needed correction. The end goal is to be more facile, efficient, and not overwork. (The texture is not so pronounced- it’s just glare from hasty/lazy photo lighting). 6×8 on primed panel
