        I traditionally make a card each year following the oriental zodiac, and 2020 is Year of The Rat. I didn’t want to do a cartoon, but to celebrate the critter, pest that he can be, so I decided on a mixed-media print. Here are the papers ready to print: (old Gainsborough cover, Pewter, some kind of laid finish)

        Here’s the print with a little more debris added for a rat’s nest effect. Title: “Year of the Rat – Recycler”

        Different versions (all grey paper, not colors like it looks here:

        It’s been fun, even if I printed a bunch without whiskers—I forgot them! White paint thinned down worked okay for drawing them in. The plate has been fixed.
        About 4.5″ x 6.25″; Daniel Smith relief ink, black; etching press.

            Thank you for sharing your printmaking project. The print looks great and adding colour looks festive. New year cards…now you got me thinking to do the same. I love to see more prints from wetcanvas artists.
