Pax and Jester WIP

I've been wanting to do a companion painting to the one I did of my cats recently. I've painted my doggie duo several times in he past, but never in oils. This one is on a 30" x 30" gallery style cradled panel.

Thanks Bethany.

Here are some more progress photos. Still quite a bit to do on it.

Re: Pax and Jester WIP

I got some more done on it. Not much, as I spent most of the day at galleries and a group art exhibit.

Re: Pax and Jester WIP

Thank you Carol.

Here it is now. I'll decide tomorrow if it's done. I can't decide it it actually IS, or if I'm just tired of working on it. LOL. I find it's best to look at it with fresh eyes anyway.

I think you are doing a fantastic job keep up the good work I do like the fact that you blocked in the painting first and you keep working on it and i also like the fact that it tells a story in your painting most people who paint just do that paint and not worry about the story the painting is telling us.

Re: Pax and Jester WIP

Thank you Docpro. I used a photo for reference, as I usually do. However, I did a lot of work on this one without using the photo. I wanted to push it more, and be more expressive. I think I'll do more paintings that way, at least with those that aren't commissioned.

I'd call it done. The freshness adds to its beauty. Lovely doggies by the way.

Looks very good. I like the lively surface, the dark, rich colours and the composition.
