Cool tempera resist painting

Does anyone out there know which tempera paint and which ink is best for tempera resist painting?

Also, what is the longevity of tempera paint? Is it archival?

dg: I am sure that there are those out there that have an answer for this one. Are you talking about egg tempera or just jars of tempera off the shelf? I am going to move this thread to the "Other Mediums" forum to see if someone might have an answer there. Until you register your name, you might want to go to the "Cafe Guerbois" forum and leave any general question. After you register, you can choose other forums and leave any question. Hope this helps.

I am not familiar with the technique - I assume you are discussing some sort of wax resist process similar to batik?

As for "tempera" paints in jars off the shelf - I am not aware of any that are considered artist grade materials, and would seriously question their use.
