OK, we can't go through a whole painting without some kind of flip-flopping and changing around! This was looking too flat and miss Six Socks was still not defined enough from the background, so.....


Here is the latest version...again, still not finished, but, just some minor touchups to go...again!

Oh Kerry, You got rid of the closer cattle! But I know why. To have Filly stand out more in the painting, she would have to be chasing the calf who got far away from the Herd. I understand. The painting Still looks Great with Filly as the Centaurel Character! LOL! * I was looking at Filly in both of the last pictures & wondered what you did to Filly to make her stand out. LOL! I hope it wasn't too much of a shock! I think the herd just needed to be further back with some empty space between the herd and the foreground chase, so that Filly would indeed be the centaural figure, lol!. She just needed a little more space to do her thang. I will probably repaint a few of the other cattle and maybe add another one or two to round out the survivors.

Fascinating stuff. Reminds me of Pandora. A lot of those creatures of the forest have more then one appendage.

Kerry & followers, I have to tell you that Filly is from a Space faring Race of Centaurs. This planet was discovered & colonised 200 years earlier & terra formed with Hexapod lower life forms to acommodate the Centaurs settling there in a steam power technology society. Farmers, cattle & Sheep type herders etc. in a Western style World. With each found & terra formed planet the settlers Society chooses what type of advanced or low technology they want to live with. So far the Space Faring race has colonised 22 planets in 600 years. Cool! Like Star Trek, Filly could ask to visit other planets & she could go anytime free by the Centaur Space Federation. Well, I was unable to make myself get back to painting this over the weekend...it was a holiday, lol! I worked on it today, however, and now I'm calling it done! Chiron, please look it over and let me know what you think! Also, if you would like to name it, you can, otherwise I'm just calling it "Round-up!".

THANK YOU! I really enjoyed painting your character and the critters (as always!) were right up my alley! LOL! Now, I just need to let this dry a few days, then I can put a retouch varnish on it. Once that is dry, it will be on it's way! Can't wait to hear what you have in mind next!
