        If you’ve seen the thread on making conte pastels, this image might be of interest. The only way to test the result properly is to draw something:)

        The camera has shown this a little redder than the actual hue…

            Looks very good. Congratulations Mr. Conté maker!
            The outline at the top of the spine may be a bit too definite.

                                        Can you please provide a link to making conte pastels? I searched for it, but could not find anything like of this description.

                                            Have a look at this thread, it should help you but you need to play around a little to get the results you like

                                            I ended up with

                                            1 part kaolin
                                            2 parts pigment
                                            weak solution of gum tragacanth

                                            but blackand white’s simple pigment + plaster of paris is just as good
