Mixing colors to match COLOR-AID colors

Hi,

Has anyone matched in oil paint the full set (314 colors) of COLOR-AID colors?

http://www.coloraid.com/fullset314colors.aspx

I'm pretty slow at mixing colors and I thought, maybe someone has done this already.

I know that from company to company the colors will differ, but I'd be still be pretty excited to see someone else's attempt.

Thanks!

Eric

I like to hold the cards up to paintings to see which colors work when deciding between colors of slight variations. It's faster for me to hold up those cards then it is for me to mix a bunch of colors and compare.

So I reckon that you are trying to make your own Munsell chips or in this case Color-aid chips instead of buying a set from their website ?

Hahaha.. No I'm not trying to sell anything! Yeah, I'm just trying to mix the colors of any color chips, I just happen to have the color aid ones. Does the munsell model offer color mixing recipes? With pigment numbers? Holding up a color card to the painting has been a really useful tool for me. I punched a one inch square out in each card so I can see the color effects.

Re: Mixing colors to match COLOR-AID colors

I have never bothered to take a look at the Munsell Model. There are a couple of books with recipes to mix colors, one of them:

https://www.amazon.com/Color-Mixing-...l+color+mixing

I read "Color theory" by Parramon, this is the practice I took to mix color as general rule, including, but in a limited fashion, the exercise recommended by Richard Schmidt.
