This is the first of a three portrait commission. It is graphite and white charcoal on Canson Mi-Tientes paper, 8×10.

Thank you, Bethany. I am eating my heart out, because I haven’t heard, yet, if my client likes it or not. Maybe she hates it and is trying to think of how to tell me. Maybe she is angry that I did such a bad job. Maybe… Maybe… Maybe…!!! I drive myself nuts! LOL!

So cute! He is a nice boy and you rendered him very well. An artist knows and feels when his or her work is good. Other opinions are of little importance…but here it is a commission…good luck!

Great work Ginny. I tried to find any problems, but I could not find anything wrong. The only thing that only an artist would see is the values on the ear. Check the area of the tragus.

Thanks, Moises. The ear was difficult. The whole thing was difficult, because it was a horrible flash picture with lots of blown out highlights, etc., plus he had a strange ear… I am now working on his older brother.
