LOL...actually it's done. And I was listening to Joan Jett on my headphones and then, after an hour, switched over to Enya C.D.s. Talk about opposite ends of the stick. (I have to listen to music when I work)

My art is more realistic, not a cartoon, but it's cute and all, so THERE!!!

(And a lot of Coke Zero went down as I worked because I don't drink......wine..... )

Well, Woody, we will at least not be duplicating each other. I showed Susie the ref photo and she thought it was mean and cruel. I may have to reconsider.

It's a centaur, Dianna. A pretty female one. Ten people could do a female centaur and it would come out ten different ways because they used their imaginations, so I don't feel too much like I'm giving anything away other than the obvious.

I'm very happy with it so I'm going out for a pizza to top off a successful Saturday morning.

Well I'm the one that got the CUTE challenge so anybody can do anything they want...If EVERYBODY does a cute artwork, that's fine too. You should go with your gut instinct whatever it is.

Of course, now I'm intrigued at this "cruelty" allegation.

Hint: the model is a statue in the Louvre.

Course, that's like saying "My sweetheart is a resident of Texas."

BTW, Woody, you mentioned being a"monster kid" in the 60s. Did you ever come across Forrest Ackerman's "Famous Monsters of Filmland" magazine? A store across from my Dad's office sold it. My cousin and i were avid readers, buying back issues with our allowances and trading them back and forth.

Percherons, I had to look them up, beautiful draft horses!
When I was a kid we would go to the National Western Stock show and I loved to go on Draft Horse day. Which was also strangely enough Miniature Horse day, I wonder who thought that up?

Bill, I'm curious about your "mean and cruel" source.
I'll just have to wait and see.

My dad bought me the first issue in 1958 because I was nuts about Frankenstein's monster and he/it was on the cover. I had every issue (Also its sister magazines, Monster World and Spacemen) up until 1970.

I also visited the Ackermansion many times when I moved to Los Angeles in 1972.

Re: Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat! November 2017

I was going through my 400 plus piece portfolio and discovered that I had only one piece with a horsie in it...and THAT little fellow was an Eohippus, the "dawn horse".

BELOW: This was a painting I did several years ago inspired by the film, THE VALLEY OF GWANGI.

So this challenge will be good for me in that I can add another equestrian creature to my pantheon.
