Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Inktober Creepiness.

Just for fun. Trying to do an ink drawing a day throughout October (and falling well behind), on a "spooky" theme. Don't much care for this ink medium, (some dip pen and some ballpoint) but have loved horror all my life. Retirement from work is just 2 months away now - then I can get serious about art and dig out my oil paints once again!

INFO:- 1. The Goat of Mendes "Baphomet" thought to have been central to the Knights Templar which was outlawed in France on Fri. 13th. Oct. 1307.
2. "Heathcliff! It's me!" 3. & 4. Daemon Lover (a favourite folk song). 5. "The Mezzotint" (a favourite ghost story by M. R. James) 6. A Wolf in the hood. 7. Rossetti's nightmare. After this his life descended into a haze of drugs and alcholol. 8. "Mirror, mirror on the wall!"

I like the "Mirror, mirror" one. Little Red RH second.

Re: Inktober Creepiness.

Beauties all but I really like the Rosetti one, he was haunted for the rest of his life by that exhumation.

Wonderful set!
Ink...yes a challenge just to do something it that medium.
These are wonderful, great detail and forms. Each one a gem.
Your Daemon Lover is very appealing, not enough HOT guys in art!
Oh and congrats on your retirement in a mere 2 months!

Re: Inktober Creepiness.

Very good! Not an ink user myself. I like the loose and forgiving qualities of paint.

Re: Inktober Creepiness.

I guessed that #4 was from "The Mezzotint." Is #2 from "The Golden Arm?"

Me, I gave up on ink when my old "erasable ink" pen gave out.

I believe he had some mental issues and he was so overwhelmed by her death, he thought he'd never write again. Then he became obsessed thinking that he could write again but only if he could see those poems. The whole thing was pretty weird and to boot a worm had eaten through the book so he couldn't read half the poems anyway. I can't imagine the book smelled pleasant either. Ick!!

Re: Inktober Creepiness.

Well, Rossetti wasn't any threat to Keats' fame, IMHO. I had to read "The Blessed Damozel" in college and was not impressed.

Re: Inktober Creepiness.

Thanks everybody, you are all too kind. Well, that Rossetti scribble turned (unexpectedly) into a conversation piece, didn't it? (Apparently, somebody was asked to disinfectant the pages, which Mr. Dante Gabriel Rossetti wasn't to happy about in the end, because that somebody over did it, and many of the pages got stuck together.)
Actually, I'm surprised that Hollywood hasn't made the tale into a movie yet, starring Dicaprio (in a beard) as "Dant," and a CGI'd Kate Winslet, as Liz.

I'd watch that!

Ooh, with Kate Winslet playing the lady. But who for Rosetti? Leo di Caprio?
