        Greeting from Bangkok !!!

If you’ve done at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one, we’d really appreciate it! You can sign up by posting your name and the current hosting list stickie on Artwork from Life forum: https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347&page=57

        Rules for Hunting:
        * All items on the list must be sketched from life–not imagination nor photo references
        * Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed to by unanimous vote among the participants
        * You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count those objects as separate list items, but no single object can count for more than one list item.
        * All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you sketch and post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few items as you like; you don’t have to finish the entire list to participate! You don’t have to comment on every post, but comment, if and when you can.

Scavenger Hunts last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you to do each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are also welcome!

Being the lazy procrastinator I am, I decided to sketch while there was food that was not in a can or a box here. In the big book with the Prismacolor 01
            Number 1, seasoning
Number 2, food – chile burger and fries left over from last night
Number 3, sweet treat – mini cinnamon roll

Sorry for the bad photo, cloudy today……

Joan, I always like your lobsters, cool. The stairs and door are nice and of course the old red, white and blue. The flower pot reminds me of some we had in Bolivia. Beautiful flowers in both sketches.

                        Joe, hey!

I sketched in the big book. Colored pencil and Pilot ball point pen. My other pens and sketchbooks were in the car.

Brian, nice work. Good technique for the dandelion. We see lots of those in our yard at home!

Gene rode his trike yesterday and wanted me to get a video of him trying to get to 50mph on his trike. Crazy, I think. I sketched quickly (less than 5 minutes) while waiting for him to zip by. He got up to 47. Whew…..

                                Number 5, landscape

Jo – Thanks. I love posts like that and seeing what is growing out of the holes. Good sketch of the heater. Your landscape with the trees and mountains in the background is really nice. I can imagine Gene flying by on his bike.

Brian – Thank you. Love your painting of the jar of spices, flower and lemon. great colors.

                                    Indikon – Thanks so much.

Joan – how was the lobster? Love the door/flag image It is like a stereotypical front yard. We use to call the big oval pot with side pockets Strawberry Pots. Love the flowers.
Peach and omelet are nice but car just blew me away. Super job!

Jo – with your temperatures a heater like a good idea. Nicely rendered. Nice view but where is Gene in road pic?

                                        Brain – Beautiful.

Joan, I like your breakfast! As Joe says, the car is amazing!

Joe, Nice you have models for the round, rectangle and cone. Very well done, too. Ha, Gene went by so fast!!! I could have put him in going uphill, I would have had time that way.

In the SW forum monthly challenge, one of the photos was 2 pair of boots. I decided to sketch from our real boots so I could use the sketch here. A stretch for both forums, ha. It took me about 3 hours and I got tired of the perspective, shadows and details . The forum photo was more straight on but I like to stand to paint/sketch with pastels so my perspective looking sort of down on them, was hard for me. I should have moved them. Sigh….

Number 5, shoe – Our boots, pastel on Uart 9 x 12 inch paper.
