Re: Watermedia challenge for January 2019

Thank you for your positive comment folks. I nearly chickened out of the street scene but then I thought it would look better with the vibrant colours of either acrylics or watercolour pencils,so I plumped for the pencils as they are such fun to work with .I think it turned out ok in the end.

Merriweather: Beautiful dancer!!, thanks for the nice words and advise.

Carol: Nice painting!!, that puddle looks too tempting to let it alone.

Johndk, thanks for the welcoming. Yes, I sure will post some results of my playing in the future.

Sandie, amazing painting!!

Re: Watermedia challenge for January 2019

Street Scene
Collage bits of newspaper. acrylic paints and acrylic inks.
on Canson Heritage paper, not primed, size A3

Just a heads up, after putting the newspaper on and a little bit of background, I put the painting outdoors to dry off. It was 40 degrees (104 farenheit) in the shade, not a good idea, as the paper and glue dried and started to peel off. The paper also buckled, so I have learnt something, and just sharing this whopper error.

Sandie and Merrie, such great street scenes! I was going to attempt it, but it is way above my modest skill level.

Thanks Joy, it was not easy, a right challenge, not something I would normally try... Sandy has put a ton more work into hers and it shows... its wonderful.

Merriweather you are being hard on yourself. Your street scene is super. I love your original take using the collage idea with mixed media. It works for me as a viewer.

Re: Watermedia challenge for January 2019

Artysinger, thankyou... for me, I guess I rather am growing with this collage idea.. this is my second try, but I shall seek out better and more colourful paper... perhaps ask my hairdresser for old magazines which I don't buy, and try some tissue papers as well.

KreativeK - thankyou kindly.
