Re: My feathery friends

They are lovely! I think the backgrounds are really great at making the birds pop out. Awesome job both with the right color combinations and the realistic look
Nothing to add, they are great!

Re: My feathery friends

Very nice work, Christel! I love the posture of the yellow bird. Did you consider taking a little artistic licence with the branch in front of his head? That's a teeny bit confusing to me. Love the background.

The other two are wonderful, as well. The middle one looks so alive and alert with that raised crest and shining eye. The guinea fowl are excellent and I like the way the background fades to softer focus.

Re: My feathery friends

I like the bit of yellow on the one on the upper right. What kind of bird is it?

All three have great detail and look very lively.

Re: My feathery friends

Thanks Mira, Lombardi and Lamar! You're right about the branch by his head. I have to keep that in mind for my next paintings.
The birds are masked weaver, bulbul and guinea fowl.

Re: My feathery friends

Wow, these are all so lovely - and so different! It must have been fun to work on each of them. Your attention to detail and your soft colors are perfect.

Although, I confess I did think the last one was a painting of turkeys. oops!

Re: My feathery friends

Beautiful work Christel. Of the three I like the last one best, but they are all great.
