Continuing Education Classes...
I was recently hired to teach some art classes for a community college. We are to be paid hourly for the work in the classroom, at around 19-20 dollars an hour. My question is what about all of the time spent in preparing for the class each session? This doesn't seem to be accountable for by the school, and everyone knows that preparing lessons/assignments takes a lot of time, and is done on the outside of class.
I have spent quite a bit of time creating original art images that explain composition, perspective drawing and value studies. This took much more time than I had planned, and now I realize that the time I put into it will not be compensated for.
Has anyone had a similar experience with this, and what do you think?
