Woodburnings

These are some woodburnings I did years ago. The wood panels are cut from luan scraps from a project I don’t remember. The wood has darkened over time, expect for a couple.
Comments welcome.

Re: Woodburnings

This is very interesting work... I wonder how far you can go in darkening and shadowing with the technique...

Re: Woodburnings

Thank you all for looking and commenting!
Kay, the bobcat is my favorite too.
Chammi, Delicate is a good description for the process. Surprising how little pressure it takes to burn the luan.
Penny, it’s good to hear from you again.
Federico, you can get good darks, the intermediate values are made from lines, hatching and weight of line. However, there’s no erasing....

Re: Woodburnings

Well, then you need to be careful ... but then you could build it in layers until you get the darkest darks.. sounds interesting
