Good place to buy Copic?

I was wondering if there is a good place online to buy Copic markers? Dick Blick has a pretty meager selection, and they are out of stock on most of the ones I would buy. Everywhere else online seems to be low on stock too. Is it always like this? Is Copic a poor choice due to availability? I've found more at Hobby Lobby than anywhere else, but I was hoping for a better price and selection. Surely there is a place where professional designers can count on getting their supplies when they need them. Anybody have suggestions?

Re: Good place to buy Copic?

Jerry's has a huge selection of Copic Markers: The Ciao Copic, smaller, it seems, but that may not be a problem if you are looking for wide range of novelty colors? Here's a Link (I hope it works! )

Amazon also has Copic Markers, but I know nothing about their supply/colors.

Re: Good place to buy Copic?

Copic has been having stocking issues since around Christmas. They sent out a letter stating that their popularity has grown so fast that they had a hard time keeping up. They stated that they are going to rework their system so this situation does not happen again. Hopefully it happens soon!

I think Blick or Jerry's would be your best bet, when it comes to selection and price.

Once Copic gets their ducks in a row, the selections offered with Blick will improve as well.
In the meantime, you could purchase Prismacolor markers, not as fancy as Copic, but still work really well.
The Blick brand markers also have great reviews.
Both of those are less expensive than copic, and may work for you, for now

Assuming you mean Copic Sketch -

According to both of our local art shops, supply will be picking up again by this summer. Right now, I've had some luck picking through our Artist & Craftsman and Michael's locally. Michael's charges $7.99 but you can get 30-40% off coupons regularly so it's not too bad.

Also look on eBay, several sellers are usually auctioning off small "lots", typically around $5 apiece.

It's a shot in the dark, but sometimes you'll find them on Craigslist, worth a search now and then.
