Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
This is my favorite for 2010. It is a portrait of our friend's Yorkie in his summer cut. I chose him because he was so adorable with such a dejected look. I took the photo as we both awaited his "human's" return. I'm happy with how he turned out. He was a gift to them and a real joy to do.

Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
I know I'm not supposed to comment....but this here thread is chock full of artistic greatness!!!!!
My choice for my addition would have to be my Biggest as well.
16"x20" "Night Whispers"
I chose this one not for the size but for the detail I was able to achieve especially with the fence post. For the fence it was the first time I started scratching without drawing or transferring a drawing, or using a hard copy reference to go off of.

Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
I think that I am going to have to pick the bear cub as my best of the year. I'm picking this one because it is the first board that I used a few different tools to finish. I used a fiberglass brush for the tree and an X-Acto #11 for the bear. I also did a lot of re-inking on this board.

Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
I chose my portrait of a boy which is my latest finished on Dec 31 2010. I've had the ref for over 4 years and been dying to attempt it but not felt I had the skills needed to do it justice until now. I did a sketch of it sometime ago but was not at all happy with it - then I found scratchboard and with the skills I learned at Indy felt now was the right time. This is definitely my best piece to date.

Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
I chose my first white board, done in sepia. I picked this board because it is one of my better pieces for this year, and because it was very challenging.

I feel my best for 2010 was " [email protected]". It's wonderful to see such beautiful work from everybody. Here's to 2011....

Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
This thread has awesome work in it!
I guess mines would be my amur leopard piece, and it is also my smallest scratchboard to date at 5x7 but it was an extreme close up. I guess I like it best because I discovered my technique for doing fur with this piece and I think it is my most realistic piece with the eyes.

Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
Wow, what inspiring work!
My favorite from 2010 is the one I posted in the "Who Are You" thread since I just arrived. Unfortunately I didn't have many to choose from in 2010, hopefully that will improve in 2011!

Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
2010 was a dismal year for art in my studio! Seriously! I have only two completed boards. I am posting the scabby bull even though it technically wasn't finished till 2011....but it would have been had Christmas not come along . As to why its my favourite, I just enjoyed the rendering of all the different textures. It was great to do a human for a change. I will be doing more in future for sure.

Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
Sorry I am so late getting to this , wonderful work from all. I will submit the one that turned out closest to what I had in mind when I started. Rick

Re: Scratchboard hall of fame 2010
How'd I forget to post in this thread? Yikes!
My best/favourite work of the year? I would have to say it's "Diapente" but there were some really close seconds!
