Re: The Watering Hole wip

Thank you Irfan!

I don't know if you're serious or not...but this is the first time I'm standing to do a scratch piece...practically laying on my drafting table, but it keeps my arm downward which really helps the shoulder. It's comfortable.

Yes I was serious. I'm working on a board less than half this size but still find reaching a pain so I have to do some parts upside down So thanks for that

Re: The Watering Hole wip

I was just looking at your update and I don't see anything uneven at all. Did you really get every ounce of black ink off of that tusk with a scalpel blade.?
Thanks for the tip on working large boards, something I will keep in mind for the future. By the way your tip on using tape to extract a piece of fiberglass embedded in the finger really does work.

Re: The Watering Hole wip

I raised my drafting table to a little higher than my hips, kept it fairly flatand then just leaned over on it.

Bonnie...I used the fiber brush for the tusk...just used the scalpel to clean up the edges.

Just amazing work so far Lorna - can you give a rough idea as to how long this piece will take to do.

Re: The Watering Hole wip

Thanks, Wendy!

Judy...I honestly have no idea...it depends on if I can stay motivated to work on it. Right now I have no other plans than to work on it except for Tuesdays.

Re: The Watering Hole wip

Update. It was a beautiful day here, so I opened all the windows wide, put on some music and scratched.

It's coming along slowly, but steadily.

And in the big picture

Re: The Watering Hole wip

Do you look at it, all the work you've already done, and look at the rest of it still to do and go "Oh my goodness, what was I thinking"?

I would but thank goodness you are doing it. It's going to be so worth it!!

WOW! This is really well done. You have such an excellent eye for details. I can hardly imagine working on a piece that big, let alone actually muster up the patience and perseverance needed to complete one.

Great job so far!

Danielle

Re: The Watering Hole wip

Thank you Danielle!

Heather...I remember you, too, from the A&W forum...I saw the name inkskin and immediately your crocodiles came to mind, so I checked out the Who Are you thread and there they were! I always liked them.
Thanks for stopping by and I'll look forward to seeing some new works from you.
