Hello everyone, this is my first post to the forum and I'm looking for some help with A painting I am doing for a child's room. The llama is being done using several reference photos and the floral garland is imaginary. I'm having a terrible time with the lighting. The poor little llama looks stuck onto the background and I need help getting it to look more part of the scenery . I have to have this complete in another couple of days and I would appreciate any advice and help that anyone can give me. Thanks so much in advance for your help

Consider some blued or purple mixes for shadowing , do you have a light direction planned?
That will help- so you can see where to highlight & where to use the shadows.. but not a dirty white use a soft blue or lavender..
camera /photo refs tend to show shadows as grays or blackish tones- but use imagination or other paintings to see what colors might fit well..

You might look in the animals forum or southwest forum has animals also.. doesn't have to be a llama any light color animal could be helpful for shading & shadows..
