29.10.02 garden jewels

Hi floral botanicals, don't get over here much, but thought I'd share this one with you. Watercolours in my Clairefontaune 300g garden journal...

It may well be the end of summer, but autumn brings its own special delights, golden hues and garden jewels. All these little gems of nature I found in my garden, bright zingy scarlets, warm luminous yellows, sumptuous crimsons and purples and translucent pale greens, a veritable treat not only for the artist, but any appreciative passer-by, not least the feathered ones. The weather here is still unseasonably balmy, there are several butterflies still busy flitting among the last marigolds and blessing us with their beauty, and the lizards are still topping up their tans along the sunny granite window sills. Days like this make a body glad to be breathing…

Kat, I think that you sort of missed the year in your title! Lovely colors. Such a variety of shapes, but look at all that you harvested!! Nice!!

This is such a great way of showing what nature has to offer in the fall. Very nice. .......When is the jam or jelly gonna be on the table?? This reminds me of my grandma's table...grandpa loved his fresh jams. She always had a trio of her homemade jams, on the table at all meals, sometimes with fresh breads. Scones would have been nice, but she made fantastic breads. She was of German heritage and grandpa was the Scotsman.
