I like the way the bird came out, but not his beak. I might be able to fix that…
Tried blending color on the page using different washes, but that didn’t go well. Went back to mixing on the palette.
Trying to decide if I want to add an actual background, or do something like a simple wash offset him.
Thoughts or advice?
This is small – 7×5 (1/2 of a sheet of Canson 140# paper) but using D Smith W/C tubes. (Which are very nice!) I’m still just playing, so to speak.

I think you’re right – I will probably redo him on better paper and will try the background then.
