Nice! Very active piece- I can feel the mood of the father and son and the lightness. I might suggest, although I always forget them myself, some shadows from the trees although I do see where there is light poking through further up the path! And I really like the tulips at the base of the tree.

Thank you! I thought the shadows showed up better now that I look at the photo, not as much as I had thought...I do think I'll deepen them

Re: Father and Son

This is really good. I get a compelling story and emotion from it.

Thank you....after years of painting, I'm finally learning to 'tell a story' with some of my art

Re: Father and Son

This is lovely Nan, nice story, nicely painted and because it doesn't look like a strong sunlit day, the shadows are ok, in my opinion!
What I would look at are his legs, difficult foreshortening, and the crease highlights on the right leg particularly make it look like a very low knee joint!!

Alert from that, very nice indeed!

Nicely done and that looks like a really nice place to go for a walk.

Re: Father and Son

Very nice painting. I agree with Maureen's comments about the legs. I really like how you handled the trees generally. The trunks create a nice pattern.
