Butterfly Fields- 40 hours later

Sooo, This is where I am at after 20 more hours of work on this. This painting has "Mutated" alot!!! Wanted to share and get feedback so all critiques are welcome. I don't have a lot of time right now or I load all the variations of this painting but think im going to call it good soon. Any thoughts before I sign off on it would be greatly appreciated

The values seem to be in the dark range all through the painting...
If the back ground was lighter , bluer, softer it would feel more 3 D and also the flowers would stand out more..

Changed to B&W to show values..
If too dark, or too light overall, more value changes are needed.

Suzie, did you try posting in a more active forum? Like by media, subject, other, etc. (For example, In Oils/Acrylics, in Botanicals/Florals, or in Composition). This WIP forum was the most difficult for me to find and it doesn't seem to have much action.

Happy painting to you too! Painting with oils is still on my list of things to try.

I agree that it seems dark, but might be just the photo. If you think of where the sun /light is coming from you can reflect this on the back mountains a bit more would bring your eyes back there. The sky seems wrong for some reason the colour on the left of the tall purple flower seems different than just at the right of it. The swirl you have above it? I would rework the sky for a overall morning or evening feel. overall I just love your painting; very very nice.
