While attempting a landscape painting at a workshop I discovered that I had not packed any green paint. That is the reason for this strange colour palette.

Like the composition and how it came out minus the greens. Maybe you could try it again or add green later.

I don’t mind the color, but if you wanted green, you could have mixed with yellow, blue and a little red. Just sayin’.

Looks good, I don’t mind not having bright greens in the mix here.

A lovely, peaceful landscape, I like the colours very much!

I like it Balaji. The only thing that doesn’t quite work for me is the composition. Think it could do with a field boundary running into the picture from left to far distant centre to lead the eye into the painting.

Excellent reflections in the fore ground.

LIL, Kate, Dhana, Joan, Mike, Ernst, & Jim…Thank you.

Kate…During the course of the workshop the instructor painted several demos. Each time he told us to focus on the values that he obtained and not the colours that he used. When I realised that I was not carrying any green colours I therefore decided to take him at his word and do a “green” landscape without greens, instead of mixing and obtaining the required greens.

LIL & Mike…Point taken. Yes I could do that.

Hi Balaji, I like the colors, they read green to me in a convincing way

                                            I always mix my greens…

Excellent work, regardless. The brain sees a little green where there’s supposed to be green, so it does not look odd at all.
