Heron

Soft pastels on 9x13 velour paper. If I am posting too much, just let me know and I will slow up some. LOL! I took a few liberties with this heron. I think he is supposed to be a grey heron, but I like the rare multi-colored variety.

He has the look of a night heron to me. I really like the pose and the texture of the feathers, and the background works well too, I like how the colours match his eye. And please keep posting, I'm enjoying your work!

Great bird images.. I believe your camera settings must be improved.. looks kinda blurry (all your images)... Try to scan them, really shows a difference in pastel work.

Thank you, Federico. They are blurry in real life. They are on velour paper. When I first started using it, I did not like the blurriness, but I am beginning to like it. :-)
