Re: Basic 101: Pre-Class Assignments and FAQs

Hello everyone! I'll start off with a little bit about me. I am 25, graduated from undergrad with a degree in biochemistry and am currently pursuing a doctorate degree in the medical sciences. Needless to say, I have used one part of my brain a lot more than the other and I want to change that. I have never done any sort of art and have never considered myself to be very creative. I want to tap into whatever creativity I may have and learn how to draw. I spend a lot of time outdoors and am interested in drawing what I see around me (landscapes, plants etc...)

Here is my attempt at an orchid on my desk.

Re: Basic 101: Pre-Class Assignments and FAQs

Hello, I am 18 and just want to be able to draw whatever comes to mind, what I see or feel in a sketchbook. I picked up Vilpuu's Drawing Manual and tried some gesture drawing and really like it. Maybe I'll end up drawing people.

Here's an apple-thing I made.

Re: Basic 101: Pre-Class Assignments and FAQs

I guess I have to use up this comment, so... I really like quick, strong, sketchy drwaing, just playing with the lines, that's what I did before I started to pick up drawing. So gesture drawing seemed natural to me,(even though I suck at it).

Sorry, I thought I had to post twice before posting a picture. Didn't know the picture worked.

For some bizarre reason, that limitation is only for images in the text, it does not apply for attachments .
