Beautiful rose, Vlad. It stands out great against the dark background. Great job!

Vlad, your rose is magnificent! I love the changes between the orange underpainting, the cool rose-pink layer and the final peach color of the rose. You really captured it perfectly. Glorious!

Re: WIP Rose - Step-By-Step Demo
Thank you Robert, it was my first serious take on the rose , at the end I thought it became too heavy, I should have made it more "airy".

Re: WIP Rose - Step-By-Step Demo
Finally finished.
30x20cm on Firsher sanded card
It is a little lighter IRL. The background actually has some purple in it but it is just coming out as blue as usual. I've tried photo shopping it but cannot get it righ I'm finding it hard to get lost edges in OP.
C&Cs welcome.

Re: WIP Rose - Step-By-Step Demo
vlad I like your rose. That change from the pink to the apricot is great and gives it a lovely deep colour. When you find out how to do 'airy' let me know please, as I need to lighten up LOL

Marion,
Sorry for the delay in responding but I just discovered that you posted this rose in January. You did a great job. I also like the background. The orange against the blue bg (complementary colors) causes if to be very vibrant. You achieved a nice 3D effect on the rose. Beautiful colors.

Re: WIP Rose - Step-By-Step Demo
Sara, I''m so sorry that I haven't commented on the beautiful rose you have going heer. I'm impressed that you, as a new artist, have been able to achieve such lovely work. Great colors on the rose and I particularly like the mottled background. Please show us the completed work. I know you plan to put some greens on the stem and sepal.

Re: WIP Rose - Step-By-Step Demo
Sara, I join the clapping smiley faces and applaud your work. You did a great job with it. The colors that you used look fantastic. The bright, dark blue background sets off the rose so well. You managed to keep the edges nice and clean. That takes time and patience. Do you plan to frame or mat it? It is a worthy candidate.
I enjoyed seeing your "jajaja." I had to think about that for a while and realized that there is no "h" in Spanish and the "j" sound like an "h."
I'm so glad that you decided to paint the rose and that you learned so much and also did such a good job.
