hi!
uploading this though the photo is way off. the work gives a decidedly earthy, grounded impression IRL, not the lime green scream seen here. cam pushes red and contrast, tipping the carefully weighed relationship between large and small figure just past where the small begins to crowd the large.

It's tiny. 6"x8,5"; oil on canvasboard; "one"

is it past finished? if you were to change one thing, what would it be? remove, straighten, lighten, darken etc? the face of the larger looks clumsy here, maybe the photo is pointing something out to me?
thanks for looking, have a good sunday

Re: one

'the face of the larger' ... are you noting the orange behind the front of blue? i saw it as a sort of shadow and it works for me, 'cept maybe the 'nose' is too large.

she appears proud, anticipatory, driven to move, but hesitating, reticent

i want the structure to the lower left of her to be an alien stork dog ... vs a water faucet
the red orange, a window with someone peering out with laser eyes, piercing, judging maybe, a subconscious casting the orange shadow ... for sure i'm over characterizing because your title is 'one', not 'one and co'.

on line photos Always point out something i hadn't seen, sometimes good, sometimes bad and i use it to contemplate changes, but ultimately it's the live version that has the final say in what actually gets done, if anything.

i mean the blue only. looking at it now it feels obvious. i've a bunch of these ridic simple poses where you feel a skeleton. this head from top to jaw is long like it's yawning.

😃 no such thing as over characterization and you know it. those are the things to say out loud, words for various principles, lids for unseen worlds.

they do! publishing changes the photo. thanks for your help

Re: one

Looking at it as a whole, and disregarding your take entirely (sorry, not sorry), I love the feel and fluidity of the work. I also get an impression of grounded stability because of the balance provided by the smaller vertical statements. I think this is a winner.

Re: one

thank you artelahe! it's a kind of hopeless when the work is four different yellows and then they don't photograph. tried places, backgrounds, cam options w combinations, time, but it is what it is.

Re: one

This is an interesting piece. I see an elongated woman in profile leaning forward yet still balanced. And I do like the colors even though what I'm seeing may not match the original, as you've said. I don't understand some of the other comments so I'm ignoring them, sorry!

Re: one

I sympathise with you ronsu, photographing artwork is a pain. Even if you see it correctly on your computer or tablet, you have no idea what it looks like on another device.

You have got a strong piece here and tonally it works well, good composition too. I would love to see it in person, maybe one day technology will make it easier for us to see what another artist's work is really like.

Re: one

thank you graphicali! it's a downer when it obstructs learning. a better white balance option is needed, pronto!
