Re: web site

If your looking for simple software then I would stick with iweb. If you want to have more options then iweb then I would maybe check out dreamweaver.

You can change the background to a custom image or a custom color inside iweb.

Re: web site

Hi Skappy,

I've been having good luck with Wordpress.org. It's a free, open source system aimed at creating blogs but also works well for websites. I've also been doing well with 1and1.com for webhosting. The learning curve isn't too steep, there's over 500 themes, most of them customizable.

Two sites I've done using these:

http://rano.us

http://barbaraj.rano.us

Re: web site

I use MS Front Page. It seems very intuitive and fairly easy. Lots of books out too, but I liked "See it done, Do it yourself, easy Microsoft Office Front Page 2003" by Ned snell. It seems the easiest to understand if you don't want to use online help. I got my copy at the library. When I bot FrontPage, i ordered just the disk and not the manual and it was $59.00. I think you can download a test copy of the software for free and see if you like it.

Re: web site

Most hosting companies have their own site builders but I prefer an offline version of the software so that I can move my website easily if I ever have to move my webhost.

My fav website builder is xsitepro - it's great for both beginners and expert web designers. It lets you edit elements in the templates, add dynamic menus, Google Analytics for tracking your website and much more. Send me a pm if you want to see some websites created with this.
