Horse with flowing mane

Another left-handed acrylics. Will stop now as my left hand feels very tired. But it is fun nonetheless.
Oh, btw - his mane isn't really in flames. There has aleady been one misunderstanding so I'd better clear that up - it's just a red mane caught in the wind.

Re: Horse with flaming mane

I love the concept....but.....just a little nitly-pickle

the "flames" are too horizontal
perhaps if they rose up and were swept back?

the horses face seems frightened
but with a mane of fire I would be, too.

try painting with your toes....

Re: Horse with flowing mane

You are brave to try left-handed. I like this - the horse's head is terrific. My only suggestion on the mane is to use less white, maybe a cooler color such as blue-green or something. So it doesn't look like fire!

Cheers. Well, it's supposed to look like fire - just not *be* fire - lol. Makes sense? Probably not.

That's exciting, Henriette! Check out my fellow Artist of Texas member's work, Laurie Pace, who does lots of equine themed work. Very abstract. Go to www.ellepace.com

Re: Horse with flowing mane

That's terrific. And they do look very attractive - it's very positive art. Mine, for the most part, is not.

Re: Horse with flowing mane

Thanks, La. It was only meant as an exercise piece, so quite small: 60x35 cm.
