The Chapel- Teton- Oil- Ken Tiessen (xpost Lands)

I'm learning a lot of good plein-air things this trip, especially about color/values, and an efficient process for painting. This is an evening looking toward The Grand, a landmark peak in the Tetons- (little time spent on the structures, of course!). 8x10 Oil

A wonderful location.

Any chance of putting some reference photos in the RIL Ken? I have no chance of ever going there.

Hi Doug- It certainly is! It is surprisingly difficult to capture the true effect of this place, even with a good camera and fair understanding of photography. The levels of light are very high at this altitude (6,700 ft.) that many views have a super-high range of contrast. So, most images require heavy editing. I'll be more equipped to post on my return home, and will do so.

Thanks Ken, the Street View images that I fall back on are too remote.
