The Sleeping Tree ( mixed media on A3 Canson Illustration) is a painting loosely based on a very peculiar tree that grows very close to my neighborhood. I've always wanted to incorporate it into my works. I think it may be one of my most time-consuming pieces. It took me 6(!) days to complete.

Love it. I can relate to this tree during the fall and winter months, just waiting for spring and summer.

Sadly over here summer is almost done and the weather is already turning.

The reference from Arches National Park.

It looks like a potential star gate? A lost one?

The reasoning of my thought is a recent article of a bunch of new strange radio waves coming from space. So who knows maybe a star gate out there.

Great stuff makes you use your imagination.

Oo this one reminds me of a newish Disney cartoon. You know the one with the frog characters and those kids who basically slip though the looking glass?

Very fun and imaginative not to mention colourful.

I can really imagine little red riding hood going down this path bringing her basket of goodies to grandma. Thick forests are after all pretty dark in them selves and would fit the mood of the story.

Great stuff.

Thank you Virginia, Dianna, and Snow tabby. I planned to try to make more interesting flowers, something I want to try one of these days. I need to work on getting my focus back.
