This was begun much looser than my normal, and it was good experience to change my process- new color possibilities, editing on the fly, many element changes from the reference. Not entirely finished out, but toward a good direction, though a bit too many surface/light issues with the image.

March 19, 2020 at 11:08 am #962433Thanks Christel! Although working gradually, the process helps me see what final shapes and color values need to be- training!

I like the log that lays across the falls as it brings the eye to those wonderful trees and back around. Excellent work!

Comments or Critiques welcomed...always!March 19, 2020 at 1:01 pm #962436Thank you Wes! The reference I shot had good points, but was in a big tangle, so some major editing took place. In oils, this was happening while painting, so it’s a good workout to shake things up.

March 19, 2020 at 8:15 pm #962445Ken, Really fine work! Great job on the moving water. Rocks are right on.
March 20, 2020 at 8:09 am #962437Thank you Gary! I started this one with a different approach, which brought some interesting color and mixes, and allows for more revision in progress- eventually more painterly, I hope.
Thanks Boogiechile– I appreciate it! Each time is gets a bit easier, and hopefully better.
