Re: 10 Step Guide to Designing Awesome Business Cards

These are great.

I wish some of my clients were as "free and easy" as yours. I notice the samples you provide are pretty much all creative types.

Most of my clients are a bit more, shall we say, stodgy, and most frown on my "artistic liberation" when presented.

Re: 10 Step Guide to Designing Awesome Business Cards

Maybe I should change steps to secrets (eg. 10 Secrets) because obviously you don't need to use all of them...you can combine the phone stuff with the horizontal layout with a rounded corner for example.

Lol and those aren't my clients, they were my schoolmates in College...they made each of theirs by themsevles (except for Ze Design because that's a design studio )

Call them Secret Steps!
Either way, it's a great article and very well illustrated. Thanks for sharing with all of us....I noticed some ideas that I'll try out with my next card!

Re: 10 Step Guide to Designing Awesome Business Cards

When I worked as a graphic designer in California I had some interesting off the wall clients that allowed me the freedom to use my creative juices. Some of your tips I used back in the 70's, and they are still as eye catching as they were then. Your article is a great list of tips I think that most designers have their share of stodgy clients, but when you can talk a client into something more exotic for their cards they thank you later.

Thumbs up Re: 10 Step Guide to Designing Awesome Business Cards

Fantastic article. I see so many designers fall into ruts when it comes to making each client's promotional materials unique, or not unique as the case may be. I will use your article if I ever decide to make my own cards..thanks for the hard work on the whole thing. It looks great and it's informative.

Aha! I thought it was a bit "genre" specific. I wondered how someone could be lucky enough to get to do all those cool cards for creative types.

Good, informative article for reminding us to think outside the imposed box.

Re: 10 Step Guide to Designing Awesome Business Cards

Hey,

Wheres the best place to get cards printed up? I just started a faux and mural business. I think trying to come up with a name for it is the hardest thing I have ever done. Does anyone know a good place to go for ideas. I'm trying to come up with something sophisticated yet not sappy; you know what I mean?

Thanks
