Hi Everyone!
This is my current WIP. I haven't done a serious landscape piece in a long time, so I figured I give it a try. It is 18"x24" (The photo is a bottom 1/3 section) and I am using Prismacolor softcore pencils and white gelly roll pen. The reference photo is from our trip to Colorado last summer.

The torrent water with rocks look gorgeous on the photo, but a real pain to draw! LOL!

This is where I am so far. Included in the photo is the primary colors I use on the water. I am exaggerating the water movement a bit as I go along, adding a droplet of water here and there using white gelly roll pen. Otherwise, I am just staring at the photo, dissecting the subtle water colors and translating them into colored pencil strokes.
My husband and my son say this is reminds them of Hokusai's Mount Fuji and the Great Waves. Hmmm...I wasn't going in that direction, but I can see why they say that.
Thank you for taking a look at my WIP! All comments are welcome!
