La Boheme. I listened to it, well, crying through most of it. I've heard it a million times and it still gets me.

Re: What are you listening to . . . (reprise)

Very eclectic tastes. I tend to use music as a background if I'm concentrating but at other times it definitely influences what I paint and draw. Current and enduring favourite is:

Richard Strauss, Four Last Songs, especially the recording by Gundula Janowitz

Also been listening to piano music of Clara Schuman.

Long term listening to Glenn Goulds recordings of Bach's Goldberg Variations.

On lighter note there's a lot of golden oldies - The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Ry Cooder - it goes on and on. Also lots of random folk music. Recent discoveries include and ensemble called Ex Cathedra.

Re: What are you listening to . . . (reprise)

Early morning (3:30 AM) quiet, my wall clock ticking.
I thought I was losing my hearing. A few months ago a thread on another forum first convinced me to get a hearing test, then, using home-made ear drops a few times before seeing the salesman. I did use the drops and I guess the wax got itself removed from my ears. I love hearing the clock tick, watching tv with the volume turned WAY down instead of way up, etc.
Interestingly, a lot of daily noise is now too loud.

I did get my hearing checked. I do have some loss in both ears, minimal in right, a bit more in left at mid tones.

Musket - thanks.
I had quite forgotten what cheerful old-fashioned dance floor music was.

Re: What are you listening to . . . (reprise)

My playlist is a bit varied. It has some popular brazilian music and old hits. Just old stuff.

The current track is suitably called Wattercolour (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwlLUZRNtUc)

Re: What are you listening to . . . (reprise)

Dancing people...made me go look at this again. I don't know why I love this so much...Don Cornelius' cool, the crazy clothes, the exuberance, nostalgia? All I know is that I watched this show ("the hippest trip in america") and everytime I hear "Love Train," it makes me want to stand up and MOOOOVVVVEEEE. So who wants to dance with me???? Come on, geezers...get outta yer lazy boys, stand up and shake your thang.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdCMEjPC0SQ

PS. I vote for Venita and Scooby-Doo.

ETA: Never mind. I just danced by myself an now I'm about to have a heart attack. But it was fun.
