Flowers and house

I did these miniatures for a trade with my art group. They are 2.5x 3.5 acrylic on canvas paper

I especially like the first one. Best to upload 25x350 pixels to make them more like the actual size on the screen.

Enjoy both pieces. Love that yellow. And the shadowing of the house adds depth.

Re: Flowers and house

Thanks York’s, I will remember to upload smaller files.
Lawrence I like the yellow too! It cheers me up. I decided to do pics of all the houses that i’ve lived in. Some of them no longer exist so I can’t do them from life but a couple of them still do. It should be fun. Something to occupy my time.

These are super! What a smart idea to paint houses you are well acquainted with, Barbara.

Re: Flowers and house

Floblue, upload any size you want. We all have different size screens so it doesn't matter in the least. Plus, if you use the size Yorky suggests, it will look fuzzy on many of them. Plus some of us can't see well so please don't make it too small!

From the forum guidelines.

Please note you do NOT have to make your images "actual size". I'm not sure where that rumor started. As long as the image is up-loadable by WetCanvas standards, please post your image at whatever size it is that you prefer.

Re: Flowers and house

Those are both gorgeous. I especially love the style and colors of the first but the second is charming too. I like the pov of it. I just saw a Matisse at the museum and these both remind of his work. Well done!

Re: Flowers and house

Thanks everyone for the nice feedback. Virginia I did it after a Matisse for my painting group trade. I so enjoyed the trade here with all of you that I talked my art group into a similar trade. I bet it was wonderful to see the Matisse. Is the museum close enough to me to still it?

Love the pitcher with flowers. The freshness of colours is breathtaking.

Re: Flowers and house

Very nice work Barb. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Your landscape has an early impressionist feel to it. I like the choice of design in your vase painting too. The repeated swirling motif on the vase used elsewhere.
I like your larger upload. I see more, and more easily. Smaller actual size uploads of smaller works frustrates me. Last year I kept asking people to go bigger in our trade. They were ridiculously hard to view, as some made them even smaller than our minature trade size. You chose an excellent upload size here for viewing.
