Welcome forum solicitation

Having only recently registered, and having not posted anything for my first week or so, I kept noticing the little "We see you haven't posted yet, why not try the Welcome Forum" message at the top of the page while reading around the site. Clicking on the link to the Welcome Forum, I saw that I didn't have permissions to post or reply to it. Which seemed, well, unwelcoming. It took me a bit before I realized that I was looking at a locked and obsoleted forum, and that it had been replaced by a new Welcome Forum that was in fact open. So, not a significant problem, but it might be well to change the link that appears in that message to new members so that it points at the current version of the forum.

I think this a problem with updating the database. Many posts haven't been restored yet.

Yes, Michael, it is a glitch and I apologize for the confusion.
To reach the New Welcome Forum for New Users one must enter through the Town Center or the Forum Jump menu at the lower right of the screen.

By-the-way, that message about not posting recently can be removed by clicking on the small double arrow on the message and it will hide itself away.

Thanks, Jon. The message itself wasn't an annoyance, and I found the proper version of the forum so no harm done. Just had a concern (as a Web developer and user-experience guy myself) that it could be a source of confusion to other WC newbies.
