Re: Nightmare in pink - WIP

I'm watching this with great interest. Your confidence comes through loud and clear. I can't imagine how you got the drawing done.

I love Payne's Gray...is snot a good consistency?

Re: Nightmare in pink - WIP

Thanks alot guys for the comments and tagging along on this one. Well... we got pink. Last night I added more colors to my pallette and this thing is starting to come alive. (slowly) Guys we won't get into the snot thing. It's not the Payne's gray, I'm sure but the brand of paint, bad tube or something. When I started to paint I bought several different brands of paint. What ever was on sale at the time and I'm very unhappy with some of them.

Anyway, colors added to my pallette include Primary Red, Hookers Green, Thalo Yellow Green, Cad Yellow Medium and Burnt Umber.

Anyway, now it's starting to look like something. It's going slow still as I have a hard time finding time to work on it. My five dogs wanted to play or lay on me yesterday so I had to wait untill my wife got off work to start on this. Today I'm off to Michael's for abit. They have 40% off open stock brushes and my paint on sale. Time to stock up on some more! Oh yes, then there's football... Also, after I get the layout that I want I put the ref pic away. From that time on I want the painting to be mine. So there's alot of time staring at the thing to figure out what is what and where I want to throw paint.

Anyways... thanks so for your kind words y'all, you guys are the greatest.

Peace,
AL

Hi Al - I've been lurking in your Iris thread (kind of looking through the window)... and of course I just HAVE to follow this one. It's beautiful already, the colors are great, but what amazes me most is how fast you're working on this...

WOW!!!

You're quite fast, AL. But what i admire most is HOW you keep track of it all...

Keep on painting Al while we have some cookies and coffee

Re: Nightmare in pink - WIP

This is looking really beautiful, Al! I love the depth you are creating with all the background shadows. How do you find time to do this AND watch football?? Well, I'm pulling up a chaise lounge, popping open a diet Coke and looking around frantically for the chocolate...who has it????? Looking forward to the finish!

Hi Al, Like Amira I've been sort of lurking in the background. Everything I want to say has already been said by others.... I am truly impressed, this is going to look absolutely stunning.
