I staind it with a natural stain this afternoon. I didn't want to go dark. I figured the black snake would stand out more with a lighter colored staff. The wood I used is found wood, ceder from a tree I cut down several months ago. The snakes head was carved from the stub of the branch. I coated the snake with a satin enamel and painted its eye with yellow acrylic paint.

hey huskmc-to me, i would like to see a bit more of the serpent out of the staff. it is too embedded where some 'rising above' would command more attention. keep carvin'!
