Re: Maroon Bells demo - paint along - students work
i actually knew about it from previous posts..so all i had to do was locate it (no mean feat) and switch it to '8 hours'...
if it hadn't been for the earlier posts telling about it i would not have found it for sure. sooo thank you to everyone who posted their tips

Re: Maroon Bells demo - paint along - students work
oh and here is the REALLY wierd thing.
i did install and use realplayer to download it.
BUT it will only play in real player!!
AND i looked at one of my previous 'short' downloads ( via firefox+downloadhelper) i actually SAW that it is incomplete...BUT when i play it in realplayer...lo and behold it is miraculously 6 hours long!!!! !!!!

Re: Maroon Bells demo - paint along - students work
I failed to check whether or not there was another paintalong april 29. Can anyone tell me if there was one, and if so, where may I find pictures done by various participants on wet canvas website? Thankyou all for wonderful help and examples of your efforts. lildip

no. the paintalongs were on 15th and 22nd april. Johannes intends doing more in the future against payment - this was a trial.
next is essentials of painting 'grass and snow' starting on 12th may.

Here's my attempt to do the Maroon Hills picture. What fun it is to get lost in paint!

It looks great, you got lost in a really good way. I am not an art critic by a long shot I just know what I like, as for me keep getting lost.

Hi Lleone,
You're mountains show a better depth than mine, the evergreens stand out better, well done.

I'm trying to learn Jo's negative painting techniques: ) I found it difficult to render the birch trees - I do like yours.

Re: Maroon Bells demo - paint along - students work
Hi Lleone,
It took a few attempts before the foreground birches stood out from the background ones. I think Jo did his in one go with light and dark paint on either side of his brush.
Regards all,
Ivor
