Have your say. What new projects would you like to see here?

Hi everyone.
We want to post projects that interest members.
So now is the time to add your ideas for projects you'd like to see here in 2012!

I definitely like the A-Z artists and photo paint along. It has contemporary and classic approaches in a month. What really was inspiring was the host's suggestions of using what color scheme according to the some master's work in the photo paint along. I would like more suggestions as such so I could broaden my scope rather than just copying a photo.

You could do one on colour pallettes of the masters or restricted pallettes?

Classical drawing techniques?

I really liked the Once Upon A Time challenges.

Hope to have a little more time this year to take part in the challenges.

What about one on composition tricks in old master paintings- get a few old master paintings and we can discusss composition etc? ALso could try to challenge everyone to either copy or use the same strategy in one of their own paintings?

Re: Have your say. What new projects would you like to see here?

thanks for these good suggestions. They are all to my liking.

Ryan we did a compositional study in Oct/Nov 2010. I enjoyed it alot and think doing it again would be great. We also did a pallette study but it may have been combined with a photo paint along. These are great suggestions that I'd love to do again this year. Is there a particular technique you'd like to study? We did chiaroscuro last year.

Inky - yeah - ditto "what you said" about hoping to have more time to contribute this year!!!

Sandra - thanks for your comment about the A- Z. becoming familiar with little know classical artists is what drew me to this forum initially.

I'd also like to continue the study of different art movements or groups that either Janet or June started a couple years back.

Re: Have your say. What new projects would you like to see here?

Hi guys, I really enjoyed the Once Upon a Time and monthly artists as they introduced me to artists I had not heard of before. The paint a long is always good. I like the idea of trying different palette/colour combo ideas too. I also like looking through some of the old drawing style/technique books such as Loomis, maybe something like that can be incorporated somewhere.

I know I don't participate as often as I'd like (familiar line) but I always enjoy coming over here and seeing what is going on and always learn lots. Thanks for the effort you guys put into all these projects.
