Here's mine, it's a Giant Octopus in Lake Ontario. they're very common up there. This one is named Floyd and he likes to play with lighthouses.

This is acrylic 10 x14 on matting board.

I didn't know Lake Ontario was so dangerous.
Nicely done.

I was going to work on a new version of one of my earlier drawings. Since it features quite a bit of red, it seems like a nice coincidence At least it motivated me to get on with it sooner.

Re: February 2020 Fantasy Sci-Fi Challenge and Chat

This month's submissions are really cool....!

I see we came up with something similar again, Dianna Your elf lady looks mysterious, and I really like the pose.

@little dreamer - it's really nice to see different media here.Definitely caught my eye, especially the last one.

Great concept, Michelle! Nice rendering of water, Floyd looks great, too. Does he put the lighthouse back once he's done playing with it ?

She's gorgeous, the red sings. You have such a way with line and movement!

Thanks for all the lovely comments! I use both brushes and palette knives to get the wave effect. Floyd is probably sleeping under the deep cold ice now. I think they're getting a snow storm up there this week.

Very nice Vanity. Is there glitter in there, or is it just the way it's painted? Either way, it's quite magical.

Re: February 2020 Fantasy Sci-Fi Challenge and Chat

Thank you Virginia & Michelle <3

Nope, no glitter Just very bright/opaque acrylic white marker + a vivid and somewhat less opaque colored pencil (Talens Van Gogh, they are perfect for this type of stuff). Thanks to the technique I used, certain parts of the drawing really pop out nicely, I recommend giving it a try

Re: February 2020 Fantasy Sci-Fi Challenge and Chat

Something made me want to paint giant mushroom houses. This is all from imagination and could probably use more work but I wanted to get something done before the month was over.

Painted in Procreate on iPad.

The place looks really quiet I like the fairly low chroma in this piece, the shroomies stand out nicely.

Re: February 2020 Fantasy Sci-Fi Challenge and Chat

Wow great stuff this month!

Virginia- Red Floyd is great, I love his playful nature, and the waves are super cool in some places they look sort of crystalline, very fantastic effect.

Vanity- I love the wings and her wild hair. The butterfly arch is so cool and the warm orange is just right for it.

Michelle - Your Mushroom homes are so adorable and so welcoming....if only I could go there!
