Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hello. Being on the downslide to retirement, I have spent the last couple of years picking up pencils and such that I won't be able to afford once I have the time to use them. I've been doing point control exercises on a casual basis, and need to do a lot more of that. I also need to learn more about paper selection, composition, and color theory.

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hi all,
I'm a 40 something Englishman rediscovering an enjoyment of art I haven't really touched for over 25 years (my wife nudged me into it after pointing out all I do in the evenings is slouch on the sofa and watch telly). Anyway, I used to do ink pen and coloured pencil, so I've dug out my Rotring pens and went down the local art shop and bought some decent pencils and I hope to get back to something like the ability I used to have!

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hello! I'm not new to drawing, so I can't say I'm a beginner. That said, I've not had any classes/training, so really I feel I'm always at the learning stages, and I'm ok with that because I don't want to ever think I've nothing more to learn! I'm 54, and I still love anything adventurous, from travel photography to skateboarding. And, of course, I love art! Learning about CP is my latest adventure, and not that I haven't tried before, though I just didn't take it seriously enough. I've been reading through the CP Library, and what a wonderful resource it is! Thanks to all who help contribute, and to the Moderators who keep it all organized! It's really so very encouraging to find such varied beginner to expert levels in both technique and style. I've started with CP Sketchbook, and I always welcome and appreciate C&C! Joyeux beaux projets artistiques ŗ tous!

Hi all.

I'm AJ. A 28 year old beginner from England who has just discovered pencil art! I've only been drawing for a couple months but have found it very fun and therapeutic. Mainly came on this forum to look for information for one precise issue i had but after seeing all the useful info on this site i decided to join as I have lots more to learn! Now i'm off to the CP forum to ask my question

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hi, i've always loved the info I get from Wet Canvas. I hate FaceBook and the way they share user data, so won't go there.
I've been taking care of my husband for two years, so, on a limited income, decided not to buy art supplies. For over two years, no art-making. But I just bought some CPs open stock and am enjoying trying them (some Blick Studio, Koh-I-Noor Progresso Woodless, FC Polychromos, and a white Caran D'Ache Pablo). I'm saving money by using cheap paper and MDF board. My favorite paper, Fabriano Artistico, is just too expensive, even though I make my own paints. But CP looks fine on cheap paper!!!! I have to say hurrah.

Hi!

I recent bought a set of 72 Arteza colored pencils (or, as I see some refer to them...cp) and a set of graphite pencils. I haven't touched either since college...some 40 years ago.

This should be fun.

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hi, I'm from England working in coloured pencils amongst other things. I use Daler Rowney pencils, Faber Castell polychromos & Derwent Lightfast/ Inktense. My pictures are usually HB pencil drawn, detailed with ink, then coloured pencil as suits.
