Red Covered Bridge in Landscape

I did this with ArtRage oil on basic canvas. The water was muddy and I shouldn't have tried to reproduce it. I probably should have made the water clear with reflections. I tried a transparent brown underpainting in the water but it just looked like mud. All comments and advice are appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Red Covered Bridge in Landscape

I know nothing about digital art arl but the colours are lovely and I like the trees. Might just be my monitor but distinction between land and water is not very obvious to me.

Re: Red Covered Bridge in Landscape

I really like what you did with the barn Arlene and kind of like the muddy water. The four light green masses in the barn are catching my eye the most because of the contrast of green and red and the lightest value in the entire painting is that green. Should it match the value of the background trees or be just a touch darker? Maybe I am not interpreting it correctly.

Anyway....lovely piece to view...

Thanks Bizzlbee, Wes. I forgot to glaze back the trees in the background.

Re: Red Covered Bridge in Landscape

The big shapes & colors work terrific. The foreground & parts of the building however appear a little blurry as if your camera has a focus issue ? - Everything else works fine - Well Done !

Beautifully done Arlene with superb perspective, I also really like the colour palette with such a beautiful display of colour. I want to be there.
Great job.
